Children Camp 2017

​​​A Radical Ride on the Wings of Prayer Bible Camp was held from 1 Dec to 3 Dec in the grounds of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, Ipoh. Well experienced Sunday schoolteachers Jackie Foong and Catherine Innasimuthu coordinated the program with the help of a group of dedicated Sunday school teachers to facilitate the program with the assistance of 15 energetic youths. A total of 60 children from 7 to 12 years old, participated in this 3-day camp.

The children took a radical ride to five countries and they were each given a passport. Facilitators dressed like pilots and stewardess to create a feeling of riding on a plane. They were taught the importance of prayer in their daily life in every little thing they do. They were taught to experience and practice pray by play, crafts, music and even food. They even made their own rosary. They learned about Saints Faustina, Raphael, Bernadette, John Bosco and Mother of Perpetual Help. They were also taught the 5 virtues: responsibility, trust, respect, zeal and humility. The children had a wonderful experience and they are looking forward for the next Bible Camp. 

The camp ended with a Mass and potluck. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Joseph Stephen. The family of the participating children attended the mass and Father Joe gave a lovely child-related homily. The children actively participated in the Q&A by Fr. Joe. The potluck lunch with parents brought the 3-day camp to a blessed closure.

It was a fun-learning day for the children as they shared that they would take part again in the next camp.
